“A smart terminal solution is liked by both retailers and their customers. Terminal accepts both chip – and contactless cards. The modern terminal works based on a smart app and is environmentally friendly, since the receipt of the payment is transferred to the customer’s e-mail address electronically. Smart terminal is also a cheaper solution than an ordinary terminal for small retailers,“ commented Ainar Leppänen, Head of the SEB Retail Banking Area.
SEB smart terminal works via a Bluetooth-connection both in Android and iOS mobile phones or tablets, which simply need a downloaded app to use the smart terminal. “Nowadays technology is evolving fast, which makes it more useful to rent a smart terminal, so that both the hardware and software used complies with today’s conditions and is as safe as possible,“ added Leppänen.
In order to use a smart terminal, a merchant contract must be concluded and one needs to own an iOS or Android smartphone or a tablet. The terminal can be rented from the bank for a suitable period of time for a monthly fee of 8 euros.
Leppänen also added that: “Estonians are entrepreneurial and wish to offer comfortable payment methods to their customers, especially at the summer’s big events and fairs. Card payment opportunity gives a boost to entrepreneur’s turnover, since the average card payment transaction is considerably larger than an over-the-counter transaction.”
SEB also offers smart terminals in other SEB Baltic banks. More information about the smart terminals www.seb.ee/nutiterminal.
